Klingersil Non Asbestos

KLINGERsil is a range of asbestos-free calendared sealing materials able to cover a wide range of applications based around a number of different fibres and rubber binders. All KLINGERsil materials are manufactured with Klinger’s unparalleled levels of quality control to meet Klinger’s high specifications. KLINGERsil materials are easy to cut, handle and fit and all KLINGERsil materials are produced with Klinger’s 3xA finish.

KLINGERsil C-4430

C-4430 is a premium grade compressed fibre material with exceptional compressive strength, good chemical and temperature resistance. It is based on glass fibre with an NBR binder and can be used for a wide range of applications. Manufactured to high specifications and available in a range of thicknesses KLINGERsil C-4430 is often used in the aerospace industry. KLINGERsil C-4430 meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade X, is WRAS approved for use with potable water and is also fire-safe. C-4430 also has TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval. C4438 is the mild steel wire reinforced version of his quality.

KLINGERsil C-4324

C-4324 is a cost effective grade material with very good mechanical strength often used for general purpose applications. Based on a blend of glass, aramid and carbon fibres bonded with NBR rubber C-4324 has good resistance to oils, fuels, hydrocarbons, water, low pressure steam and also for weak acids and alkalis.

KLINGERsil C-4324 meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade Y, WRAS approved for use with potable water.

KLINGERsil C-4500

C-4500 is a premium grade material based on carbon fibre with NBR binder designed for use with higher temperatures and pressures than the majority of calendared materials. The use of carbon fibres increases resistance to temperature related aging and to attack when used in alkaline services. KLINGERsil C-4500 meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade X and is fire-safe and also has TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.

KLINGERsil C-4400

C-4400 is a high grade material manufactured from aramid fibres with NBR binder commonly used in the automotive and aerospace industries. KLINGERsil C-4400 meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade Y and has TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval. C4408 is the mild steel wire reinforced version of this grade.

KLINGERsil C-8200

C-8200 is a compressed fibre material developed to be used with a broad range of chemicals with particularly good resistance to strong acids and alkalis. It is an economical alternative to PTFE based materials in less aggressive applications. C-8200 has TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.

KLINGERsil C-6307

C-6307 is a specialist material developed for use in the automotive industry. It is manufactured with aramid fibres and a blend of Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) and Natural Rubber (NR). The blended binder system gives the material good controlled swell properties in oils, water and fuels enabling good gasket tightness even with low installation loads.

KLINGERsil C-4509

C-4509 is an expanded steel reinforced version of C-4500 which increases the compressive strength and in turn the maximum pressure capability. The increased stability provided by the reinforcement also allows this material to be used for increased temperatures with greater resistance to thermal degradation.
