As part of our ongoing introduction of new products into our processing, we are now able to produce PTFE in various forms.

 

Sheet, Rods, Tube and Billets are produced from high quality powder by compression, sintering and then being slowly cooked in special ovens or high pressure extrusion.

 

Additives can be included during initial processing to produce materials that have specific properties - glass reinforced material produces a hard wearing grade of PTFE with vastly reduced ‘cold-flow’ characteristics, while carbon loaded material is electrically conductive and has increased resistance to corrosive chemicals amongst many other properties.

 

Finished Products in PTFE

From the blank materials produced from our moulding process, we can then manufacture a wide selection of finished items.

 

1m and 1.5m long rods and tubes can be supplied for turning on our multi-axis CNC machining centres - from these we can make PTFE bearings, Valve Seats, Piston Rings, Split Rings etc.

 

We can skive tape from 0.025mm thickness upwards in either Virgin PTFE or Filled PTFE grades.bi

 

Items such as O Rings can be machined or moulded depending on volumes required - tooling charges for PTFE are inexpensive, and dimensional stability is ensured by compound selection.

 

Specialist seals, made up from composite materials - as the bearing seal shown on the right, are produced to customers specifications and incorporate multi-sealing characteristics of various materials.

 

While we regularly supply our Spiral Wound Gaskets with PTFE windings for instance, we can also provide full PTFE inner rings to replace the conventional Stainless Steel rings where highly corrosive chemicals are being handled.
